The College Station Lady Cougar soccer team opened the season with a 1-0 victory over the Belton Tigers Friday afternoon in the CS Classic.
Midway through the first half, Reagan Bethke played a direct into the Tiger box where teammate Kalan Breedlove flicked the pass into the bottom right corner of the goal to give the Cougars the lead at half.
Keira Herron played very well in goal and recorded the shutout.
The JV tied 0-0 with Mackenzie Martin and Emily Hord recording the shutout in goal.
Next action for the Cougar varsity will be at noon and 4 p.m. Saturday against Temple and Klein Cain, respectively.
The College Station JV will play Temple and Klein Cain at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Games Saturday will be played at CSHS.
