College Station Cougars

SOCCER:

The College Station Lady Cougar soccer team finished the first half of district play at 6-0-1 after a hard fought 1-1 draw against the Magnolia Bulldogs.

The Cougs got on the scoreboard first at the 32:46 mark of the second half when Kayla Vasquez’ shot bounced off the post, the ball rebounded to Reese Garrett 6 yards out and she fired a high shot past the goalie for a 1-0 lead.

Magnolia drew even off of a corner to make the score 1-1.

The JV defeated Magnolia 3-0 to improve to 7-0 in district and 8-0 overall. Cougar goals were scored by Ashlyn Turner, Frida Ramirez, and Reese Maxwell.  Cougar assists were by Kenedy Baker, Kaydence O’Leary, and Emery Goerig.

The Cougs will start the second round of district play Tuesday night at Magnolia West, the JV will start at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 7.
