Third in a series of six

BRYAN – Boyd junior Will McIntire is the player of the year honors on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A all-state baseball team.

McIntire was 12-1 on the mound with a 0.28 earned run average with 139 strikeouts in 74 1/3 innings with only 11 walks. The right-hander allowed one earned run in the postseason in leading Boyd to the Division I state title.

The Texas A&M pledge, who also plays shortstop, batted .405 with 45 runs batted in.
