Bryan names March-Smith volleyball coach

Bryan has hired Stephanie March-Smith to be the Lady Vikings’ volleyball coach.

The veteran high school coach has been coaching the Texas Coastal Volleyball Association club team for the last three years, but has coached in Texas high schools for 15 years.

March has been head coach at Baytown Lee, Beaumont Ozen and at Tyler John Tyler.

March’s teams have made the playoffs seven times, including a trip to the regional quarterfinals. Her overall record in UIL competition is 192-112.

Bryan posted a 23-25 volleyball record in 2019 for Coach Chelsie Lemley, losing to Vandegrift in the bi-district playoffs.

Bryan competed last season in District 14-6A. The Lady Vikings’ new volleyball district for 2020-21 — District 12-6A — includes Belton, Copperas Cove, Temple, Killeen, Killeen Ellison, Harker Heights and Killeen Shoemaker.

Stephanie March graduated from Chapel Hill High School, where she a four-year letter winner in track and a three-year letterman in volleyball and basketball.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s of Education from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is the proud mother of 19-year-old Makynlee and 12-year-old Theo.
