The Navasota girls varsity basketball team traveled to La Grange on Tuesday night to take on the No. 10-ranked Lady Leps.  The Rattlers put forth a great effort but were unable to withstand a few LaGrange offensive runs and fell, 41-28.

The loss drops Navasota to 1-1 in District 26-4A.  La Grange remains the only undefeated team in district at 2-0.  The Lady Leps improve to 22-3 for the season.

The Rattlers were led in scoring by junior post Jakayla Jones who finished with 10 points to go along with her 13 rebounds. Other scorers for the Big Blue were Nala Richardson with 6, Tamia Dailey with 4, Taniya Warren, Porsche Jones with 2 and Sha’dimon King with 1.

Navasota continues play Friday night when they again hit the road, this time on a trip to Bellville.  Tip-off is set for 6:15.
