Last in a series of six

LONGVIEW — Outside hitter Samara Coleman of state champion Conroe Grand Oaks was the player of the year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 6A all-state volleyball team.

The 6-foot senior had 693 kills, 336 digs, 47 blocks, and 51 aces to lead Grand Oaks to the 6A Division I state title, the second consecutive championship for Grand Oaks. Coleman was also the 6A player of the year in 2023.
